Shane is an attorney with more than 25 years of experience. Shane’s practice includes municipal law and general civil litigation with a focus in the areas of condemnation, property tax litigation, public construction disputes, real estate litigation including boundary and surveying disputes.
Shane further represents and advises clients in the area of municipal law. As the attorney for many cities, towns, villages and multijurisdictional municipal entities he has handled all aspects of municipal law including drafting ordinances, resolutions, contracts as well as representing municipalities in all court proceedings, including federal and state court and administrative agencies, municipal properties, open meeting and open record law compliance, licensing matters, and employee discipline and termination.
Shane also has an extensive appellate litigation practice including a number of published decisions in the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Supreme Court including, Society Ins. v. Successfully argued appeals in the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals on behalf of property owners relating to condemnation of high transmission power lines. See Klemm v. Am. Transmission Co., LLC, 2011 WI 37, 333 Wis. 2d 580, 798 N.W.2d 223.

Successfully defended a municipality in a property tax valuation case concerning property values in excess of $2,000,000.00 in the trial court, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and before the Wisconsin Supreme Court Trailwood Ventures, LLC v. Vill. of Kronenwetter, 2009 WI App 18, 315 Wis. 2d 791, 762 N.W.2d 841.

Successfully represented a national aggregate company in obtaining a conditional use permit and defending a constitutional challenge to Wis. Stat. §706.057 by surrounding property owners before a County zoning board, the circuit court, and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. See Lakeland Area Property Owners Association v. Oneida County and County Materials Corporation, 2021 WI App 19, 396 Wis. 2d 622, 957 N.W.2d 605.

Obtained judgement in excess of $200,000 for a ginseng farmer in a breach of contract matter and successfully defended the judgment in the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. See Krueger v. Hsu, 2021 WI App 36, 960 N.W.2d 630.
